Information Needed - I have some dishes (Rodeo Pattern) that has the artists name Til Goodan on the front. Back in 1955 this was a Christmas gift to part of the family. Some say I have the original (lge oval platter.) Also have a wood washboard made in Mendota, Ill.? Rollers are all grooved and when washing ,each roller goes the opposite direction. The Edwin M. Knowles Company was established in Chester, West Virginia, but moved to Newell, West Virginia, in 1900. The Knowles Company in later years was managed by a nephew, Fred B. Lawrence, Sr.
Efforts to find a buyer for the plant in 1962 proved futile. In 1963, Robert Boyce and a Mr. Tuck, area businessman, bought the Knowles real estate.
